What to do after a storm
Stay safe
Don't go onto the roof, and keep well away from fallen power lines.
Photograph what you can see
Take photos from the ground, and of any leaks or water inside.
Arrange an inspection
Call us or send the form.
Damage that's easy to miss
Hail can bruise or crack shingles and dent metal without causing a leak straight away. Wind can lift shingles and loosen flashing. An inspection soon after the storm shows you where things stand before small damage turns into a leak.
- Cracked, bruised or missing shingles
- Dents in metal vents, flashing, gutters and downspouts
- Shingle granules washed into the gutters
- Shingles lifted, creased or torn by the wind
- New ceiling stains or leaks after the storm
Working with your insurance
If you file a claim, we can meet your adjuster at the property. You and your insurance company handle the claim itself.
Insurance claimsCommon questions
How soon after a storm should I have the roof checked?
As soon as it's practical, especially after hail. Damage that doesn't leak straight away can get worse with the next storm.
Do you go door to door after storms?
No. We don't sell door to door. If you'd like your roof checked, call us or send the form, and we'll arrange a time that suits you.
Is the roof inspection free?
Yes. There's no charge for the roof inspection.
