Roofing in Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake is a community, not a city, around the lake northwest of New Braunfels, and storms have torn roofs off homes here more than once in recent years. We work around the lake; tell us about your roof and we'll arrange a free inspection.

Wind is the big risk here

In March 2021 a tornado on the west side of the lake, near Canyon Lake Drive and Rimrock Pass, tore part of a home's roof off. In June 2022, gusts estimated at 70 mph ripped the metal roof off a house on Live Oak Drive, and in April 2023 another tornado caused minor roof damage near Startzville. Whether your roof is metal or shingle, fastening and flashing matter in wind like that.

Hail, rain and wildfire

Hail reaches the lake too: NOAA logged golf-ball-size hail two miles south of Canyon Lake in April 2019. Comal County names flooding and wildfire as its most likely natural hazards. A sound roof and gutters that carry water away, clear of dry leaves, help with both.
