Your neighborhood tells you a lot

The age of your neighborhood is a good first guide to your roof. An older home may be on its second or third roof; a newer one may be coming up on its first replacement.

Baseball-size hail in 2016

On April 25, 2016, less than two weeks after San Antonio's costliest hailstorm, another storm crossed the Shavano Park area and its hailstones grew to baseball size, according to the National Weather Service. Hail that size can crack shingles and tiles and dent metal. If your roof was patched rather than replaced after 2016, it's worth a look.
