What we do, and what we don't
What we do
Inspect the roof and document the damage. Meet your adjuster at the property if you ask us to. Do the repair or replacement your claim covers, if you choose us.
What we don't do
Negotiate your claim, act as your adjuster, or tell you what your policy covers. Those are between you and your insurance company.
Keep a simple record
Whatever you decide about a claim, a few notes made early are useful.
- The date of the storm, and when you first noticed the damage
- Photos of the roof from the ground, and of any leaks or stains inside
- Receipts for anything you buy to protect the home, such as buckets, towels or plastic sheeting
- Your claim number and your adjuster's name, once you have them
- Who you spoke to, and when
Common questions
Will my claim be approved?
Only your insurance company decides what your policy covers. We can tell you what we find on the roof and meet your adjuster if you ask us to.
Should I call my insurer or a roofer first?
That's up to you. Some homeowners prefer to know what's on the roof before deciding whether to file, and a free inspection can help with that. Your policy may set a time limit for reporting damage, so check with your insurer and don't wait long.
What if I disagree with the adjuster?
Talk to your insurance company about your options. We can explain what we found on the roof, but we can't negotiate the claim for you.
Is the inspection free if there's a claim?
Yes. The roof inspection is free either way.
